Denise Roy, LMFT, M.Div., is an award-winning author and licensed marriage and family therapist who specializes in issues of personal and spiritual growth, particularly in the area of mindfulness in family life. She speaks nationwide at schools, parenting groups, churches, women's gatherings, and community organizations. She has a psychotherapy and consultation practice in the San Francisco Bay area where she lives with her family.
Denise is the author of Momfulness: Mothering with Mindfulness, Compassion, and Grace (2007), and My Monastery Is a Minivan (2001). Random House Audio published her CD, Meditations for Mothers (2007), and her essays have appeared in numerous collections, including the newly released The Maternal Is Political: Women Writers at the Intersection of Motherhood and Social Change, by Shari MacDonald Strong.
